provides educational materials to interested consumers through health outreach programs (primary prevention such as health fairs and screenings) and also to newly diagnosed cardiac patients who are enrolled in cardiac rehabilitation classes (secondary prevention).
The target audience is mature adults undergoing health and lifestyle changes, with program materials being personally distributed to patients by medical professionals.

SECONDARY PREVENTION: Hospital-based cardiac rehab programs have used Cardiac Directions materials since 1993. Cardiac rehabs combine intensive education and exercise plans for patients who have already experienced a heart problem, to help them modify the risk factors that led to their condition.
